Booking mechanisms
Five ways a Japanese provider can sell the same visit.
Most planning advice reduces Japan to a single number of days in advance. That is precisely why travellers miss releases: a drawing, a monthly batch and a rolling sales window require three different actions, and only one of them can honestly be written in a diary as a deadline.
Every experience here is classified into one of five mechanisms before any date is produced. The classification, its official source, its Japan-time statement and its check date live once in a shared rule record, so the page you read and the countdown the planner builds are driven by the same evidence.
Monthly release
Inventory is released in batches on a recurring day of the month covering a later visiting period. The planner works back to that release month instead of to the visit date.
Lottery
An application period is followed by a draw and, if selected, a confirmation or payment step. The result is a staged task with several dates, not a single purchase moment.
Timed slots
Entry is allocated by time slot, sometimes through an operator app or a same-day queue. A sales date can exist while the slot itself stays a separate decision taken on the day.
Variable inventory
Availability appears without a stable published interval. No date is calculated at all; the planner issues an undated live-check task with the official link.

Place the visit inside your trip
Each experience carries a typical position within a trip. The planner puts it on that day of your own itinerary and never later than your departure date.

Apply the recorded rule
Only rules expressed in whole days, calendar months, calendar years or a recurring day of the month are calculated. Anything less precise stays deliberately undated.

Add a preparation marker
A separate marker one week before the calculated opening is the moment to check accounts, passport names, payment methods and the current official page.

Order the queue by evidence
Dated tasks are sorted earliest first and undated live checks follow them, so a variable listing never looks like a deadline. In the experience lists, drawings and monthly batches are grouped as book-first because a missed application cannot be repeated.
Time and evidence
Japan time, without a hidden conversion
Japan Standard Time is UTC+09:00 and does not observe daylight saving. Official opening times are stored exactly as the provider states them in Japan time and displayed beside your own local reading, so a 10:00 release in Tokyo is never silently rewritten as a local morning.
Where a provider gives a date but no time, the planner shows the date and does not invent an hour. Where two official pages disagree, the rule is marked uncertain, the conflict is described and no date is calculated.

Trip dates, selected experiences, favourites, completed tasks, recently viewed pages and your language choice are stored in this browser only. There is no account, no server-side profile and no remote copy of your itinerary.
A shared plan link carries dates and filters in the URL and nothing else. Calendar export produces a standard .ics file you download, so calculated openings end up in your own calendar rather than in a notification service this site would have to operate.
